Knock on wood, I've never had a unpleasant surprise with my P320, but I also do not carry or draw from holster. I honestly have zero concern about a accidental discharge with it.

I don't think you actually have to worry about it. I met a guy last summer running a 320 doing ipsc and he wasn't worried at all.

Lmfao nobody had problems with them.... until they did.

It’s always the dead ones that kill you as my Afrikaans Bru say.

That's the general consensus amongst folks I've spoken with in Canada about it. Drawing it from a holster with a round chambered is a fairly uncommon thing here.

I know a few guys with P320s. None have had any issues and are not worried. And they do draw from holsters.

Oh man, I’m so happy for you, but this stings like hell. A tear came down, I swear.

I’m doing my RPAL course in a few months, and I’m keeping my hopes high that I’ll be able to legally own one someday.

Apply for the target pistol exemption letter if you are in BC or Alberta! Myself and several buddies have all applied, and based on what I've seen from other peoples experiences, there is a good chance you can get one!

What about Ontario?

4

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

You'll need to look into it any of the Olympic related associations are giving out letters. Here in BC it was 50$ and an application letter. Hopes to get a target pistol to compete with.

Did the pistol exemption letter allow you to get your 320? I was under the impression that you can only get .22s with the exemption.

6

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

I had the P320, as well as a few others prior to the current legislation. To my knowledge, yes the exemption letters only give you access to 22LRs. That being said, I believe there was a post a short while ago where someone was able to get a 9mm conversion for the 22LR that they purchased via exemption letter.

I know the P320 has a surprise feature, but what's up with Olight? I got this one for cheap off of GunPost a few weeks back.

They're the only flashlight brand with a body count (that I'm aware of).

Everything I can find online is inregards to an incorrect battery being used. I have a few Olight flashlights and have been quite happy with them.

2

u/swift_gilford Jun 05 '26

Because everyone blows it out of proportion. People like to bring up the story about the Olight battery explosion how people bring up the story of the woman suing mcdonalds for her coffee being hot. There's more to the story than headlines.

1

u/Nilotaus Jun 06 '26

Regardless, olight just fucking sucks. They attempted to become the apple of flashlights after that fiasco with not only the chargers but also battery DRM with their brand of batteries being the only type that will let their flashlights work at maximum output and it just doesn't work with their quality & the price bracket they are marketing in.

it's one thing to edc one in a pocket which poses it's own issues long-term, but there needs to be some serious rethinking if an olight is going on a firearm. There's a reason why Streamlight is the bare-minimum if Surefire gives sticker-shock.

And this goes without saying, but even the modlite & arisaka lights can blow if you're an idiot & charge ebay-special lithium batteries directly from USB and put them in a flashlight.

osight is apparently holding up well in comparison, but I'm only seeing a small sample size including one on youtube that was given a custom one, so it remains to be seen how good they actually are despite that custom one already having an absurd round count. My hunch is that osight just a rebranded holosun.

Finally picked up a optic and optic ready slide for my P320. Got a great deal on an auction site of all places. It's come a long way from the stock base model P320. Current build list: Apex flat trigger and trigger bar, XFive Grip module, Olight Mini Valkyrie 2, M17 slide w/Sig Sauer Romero 1Pro reflex sight. Will likely look at a upgraded slide catch lever and magazine release in the near future.

2

u/GinnAdvent Jun 05 '26

Looking good! I always feel M17 got the looks down. It looks even more substantial once it's properly fitted.

How's the performance at the range?

2

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

I just got the slide and sight today. Stripped and cleaned it, as the previous owner had left it very fouled before it ended up at the auction house. With the irons, I am able to produce about a 4-5" group at 12 yards with slow, deliberate fire. It opens up to about 8" if I run at any real speed. I've definitely neglected practicing as much with the 9mm, as I've been shooting my .357 and 22LR pistols a great deal more.

2

u/GinnAdvent Jun 05 '26

That's pretty neat!

Kind of cool that you can have the M17 optic set up and default set up with irons change on the fly.

Be real interesting to see the improvement in grouping once you hit the range with the optic set up compare to irons!

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

It was important to me to keep the OG slide intact, as I have a chassis that only works with a stock slide and grip. I am looking forward to seeing how it runs!

The rare double grenade.

😞

8

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

If you are in the Fraser Valley and want to put some rounds through it, HMU. I'm always down to let folks try some pistols out.

3

u/Dill_Pickle_Tears Jun 05 '26

Ontario, unfortunately, but you’re a real bro fr.

3

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

I feel bad for the folks that never had the opportunity to purchase their own. Pistols used to be one of the least expensive ways to get into shooting. A good quality polymer framed pistol used to start around 500, with the budget ones around 300. I have no issues with helping folks experience shooting them!

2

u/Dill_Pickle_Tears Jun 05 '26

Thankfully I’m a member at an indoor range that does cheap rentals. I’m aiming to train regularly on a .22 handgun. Only got my RPAL recently, though I’ve been a PAL holder for years.

I’ve also just applied to get on the waitlist for a club that does Olympic pistol disciplines, hoping to get my exemption after chatting with someone at the SFC about the process!

2

u/MeepsG Jun 05 '26

If that’s an open invite I may have to take you up on that 😅 miss putting rounds through pistols and doing it at the Langley range ain’t cheap

2

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

Shoot me a DM. I shoot at Ridgedale in Abbotsford.

2

u/MeepsG Jun 06 '26

Will do dude, never shot there before so it’ll be fun. We usually go to afgc or crown land in the woods somewhere.

2

u/mxcrazy1998 Jun 05 '26

Put it down slowly

2

u/UnderstandingSoft165 Jun 05 '26

Me too

1

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

Thanks! Originally I was planning to get a FDE grip for it, but I think I prefer the two tone!

2

u/under_hunter82376 Jun 05 '26

oh fuck its a sig- still beautiful gun .

2

u/epnk420 Jun 05 '26

Hell yeah looks great I did burnt bronze on my glock 19x after getting it milled also super happy with it but I still wonder if I should do the frame black yet

2

u/FroBro243 Jun 05 '26

Two tone looks way better than I anticipated. I originally was trying to get a FDE grip module, but I love the two tone.

2

u/epnk420 Jun 05 '26

Yeah I agree looks fantastic, I went with black streamlight and black optic so far to offset some of the bronze and coyote

2

u/Neat_Imagination2503 Jun 06 '26

Those are the smallest fingernails I’ve ever seen

2

u/FroBro243 Jun 06 '26

I'm naught but peculiar white boi. Leave me and my stumping digits alone!

1

u/TechnicalShooter0120 Jun 05 '26

That bronze and black combo looks great on the M17, clean without being over the top. The contrast really makes the slide and optic stand out, and overall it's a sharp looking setup.
