The odd thing is, unless someone is looking for a pension or job security i feel like anyone properly qualified for this position is probably already doing so privately.
The other issue is down the road i see this being a bigger issue. Between the handgun freeze and AR platforms being banned how is this role going to get filled in the future? i.e. unless the laws change, who's getting hands on experience with a lot of the firearms they'd have to be working on for LE.
These are the spots CAF weapons techs fight for as an exit strategy from the CAF. Lots of times supporters from CANSOF will apply to have a slower tempo day to day.
