Application / Regulation advice Ontario Borrowing ATT

For the past 10 days or so, I've been trying to get through to the Ontario CFO to obtain a firearm borrowing ATT. I sent an email to apply 10 days ago and have called numerous times.

Seems like they have been closed throughout and unable to get through on call.

Any advice?

Definitely not closed. There's just a handful of employees on the phones and they have 'banker's hours' shifts. If you need to call during your work day you are just essentially winging it, but avoid the typical work day break times. i.e. don't call on your lunch, or just when they open.

Gotta do some like 10:37am or 2:46p bullshit.

I know some people that would call and use the trick of selecting you want to report a firearms issue to get them to answer then be like oops sorry wrong button but now that I have you

you should be able to apply for an ATT in the RCMP individual web services portal

Unfortunately, as I'm borrowing a firearm from someone. I've been told by CFO that's not an option, and have to email.

I just called, I sent my ATT/ borrow from to the CFO email on the 22nd may. They have it in queue, about 50 of them in right now since they were closed last week. Their going through them now

I have to contact CFO on a semi-regular basis for a routine request. Usually get response in 1 or 2 days. This last time I emailed May 25th and got the response on June 2nd.

I can't say what was going on, but they are responding.

You can get ATTs online through the RCMP firearms program portal and it takes all of 5 minutes

If you shoot a follow up email, they’re usually pretty good with it.

Otherwise, just gotta keep trying with the phone. They’re really understaffed
