I'm always interested to hear people's opinions when it comes to reviews
You need reviews to be able to sell items and to be seen as trustworthy
But how do you sell an item without a review in the first place?
This is the Job/Experience Circle all over again.
You need a job to get experience, but how do you get experience without a job?

I think with GunPost you typically need to purchase a couple of items to get some good reviews from sellers before posting anything up for sale. I know I'd be hesitant to purchase from a 0 star seller.

I tried to leave some a very fair but bad review but gunpost would not let me. So idk how much I trust reviews

Gp mods can be pretty wack, but I do respect the fact they allow users to appeal reviews and take the time to look into it. I’m been on gp for over decade and this would be my suggestion, when making reviews only include facts that can be backed up by evidence, be fair and avoid being emotional. If your bad review is removed, attach receipts to email to mod and politely explain how your review was fact based.

I stated fact only. Talked with person. Arranged trade set up time they change mind. Then they reach out to me we set up time everythings good to go I figured out changing my schedule for this person time for deal shows up the ghost me then hours later they tell me they sold it the night before. Which would not have been a a big deal had they talked to me. Also seems like that it was a lie they sold it cause a new account just popped up trying to sell what looks like the same firearm 3 months later.
I laid everything out with facts that I could back up. I had other people review it before posting it. I asked if I was out of pocket for posting it and everyone in the group agreed that the review was fair and would be something that they would wanna know about dealing with that person. Gunpost said naw sale never happened so no review.

If it’s real - crazy. But the guy posting it has 0 reviews. I personally wouldn’t take the risk.

I spoke to him about this, he told me it wasn’t a D but was modified to take the mags. It was his cousins rifle but he decided to keep it before anyone bought it.
Good thing though I let him know these gunpost scalpers are going to take it any second

He didn’t tell me about this one specifically, however anybody can do it as long as you can weld some stainless steel on there and Dremel it down until there is a notch to accept AK mags. Believe you also need to widen the magwell / receiver a little bit.
You can do the bubba version of this at home by just drilling a hole through the stock and running a pin through it. You can saw down the duck bill magazine until it has a lip to catch this pin. Good luck

Yea, I wanted to pickup a beater sks and try something like that, then they practically doubled in price. Just curious if there was another to skin a cat

true, but this is one the variants without the AK mag paddle which is probably why it was sold so cheap.

Sks Ds are interesting but the only experience I had with one is my cousin owned one and when we went shooting that thing jammed more times than my sks has in its entire life lol . It made me never want to own one!

Considering it's labelled just as "SKS", I'm betting it was someone without a ton of knowledge on what they had. Everyone else would advertise it as SKS-D. Pricing is also pretty inline with regular SKS models, Ds are worth significantly more, so I think they just didn't know the difference.
But, I also basically refuse to deal with any adding without reviews. Not worth the risk.
I was selling a rifle recently and had a guy ask, a new account, 1 day old, with 0 reviews "can my buddy come pick up the rifle for me?". I took a gard pass on that, wouldn't even say if his buddy had a PAL and stopped responding when I said I would need to run his PAL and his buddies beforehand. Felt very sketchy.
I'd also almost always rather ship the firearm, with payment ahead of time. I'll occasionally let accounts with a lot of reviews, and if they seem trustworthy and friendly, meet me at my house.
Just a reminder to everyone to be very careful about meeting people at your home. If the account is newer, or few or no reviews, don't let them know where you live. It would not surprise me if criminals went fishing on GP to try and get addresses of gun owners.
Oh wait, the RCMP already provided them that info by leaking all our data anyway. Thanks guys!

I would never meet someone at my house. They can meet at my gun club or not at all.

I had an SKS-D a few years ago. Regret selling it now of course. But looking at the picture I truly think it may be a scam. Those magazines are correct, but if you notice that the magazine release on this rifle is not an Ak style paddle release. The real SKS-D utilizes a similar style paddle release as an ak. So don't fret everyone. It was no "Steal of a deal" my assumption is that he bought magazine thinking they fit. And tossed away the old fixed magazine. My guess is this person is probably claiming it is a "D" model as he is stuck with a rifle and 2 non working magazines .. I

I 100% could have been the first to message him as I saw the ad get posted.
To me, there were just too many red flags. I'm sure it probably is legit, but I don't need another gun that badly to start sending strangers over the internet money with no reviews.

If this is legit, then the guy who bought it got an absolute fucking steal
The guy selling it (maybe a spouse selling her husband's firearms?) probably didn't know what they had
