Buy recommendations Renegade MKII

Post image

Considering purchasing this, any advice on the optics or the magazine?

MKII owners, can I use this for shots beyond 100m? Is the vortex optic reliable enough for that?

Is there anything else I should add to my cart?

Ive heard very mixed info about how the mags run. Sounds like you need ton remove the bolt hold or something along those lines, worth doing a quick read on that.

Get the mlok version of that grip instead if the pictanny mounted version.

Good scope rings are a must, but consider an lpvo + cantilever mount. Its a very common set up on these, and on similar platforms. The Burris RT6 has done great for me.

My 12.5 is a laser out to 150-200 yards with a 1-6x lpvo so I'm sure yours will be just fine at 100. For me at the longer distances, the hard part is just seeing the target haha.

You'll quickly realize how short 100 yards is lol

MKII owner here, yes you will need to remove bolt stop to use MRX mags. Or I guess you could shave the lips of the mags a lil, though that’s legally grey.

Regardless the last round hold open will not work with the MRX mags.

Here’s a pretty good tutorial on how to make everything work with these magazines. It’s a little bit of work, and you’ll have to replace the follower in the magazine, but it’s worth it if you care about having 20 rounds in the mag.
