Buy recommendations Is this the best .22 option?

Hey, I am again having the itch to fill the gun safe abit more. Pure investment if you ask me to be fair.

As I cry seeing all my buds in the US with their ARs, I am looking at 22s. Is the TM22 the best price/quality option out there? To be fair im only going to use it for fun because ammo is dirt cheap. Any other choices I should consider?

Feel free to tell me I'm an idiot.

Cheers

Best option is the 10/22 - it's the more reliable and has the most options to modify.

However, a TM22 is cheap and cheerful and mostly works fine out of the box.

But, it will cost at least double to build a 10/22 equivalent of a TM22. The 10/22 build will be much more serviceable than a TM22 (i.e. easier to clean and fix as replacement parts are readily available).

I like the look of the TM22, price is attractive as well. Im not against the 10/22. It would be pure range fun gun

I just back from a lunch range trip - just magdumped ~300 rounds out of a modified 10/22 so I'm a bit partial to them 😂

The 10/22 is also easier to clean and takedown than a TM22.

But if you want a cheap gun, the TM22 is not bad and is surprisingly accurate. I have last year's TM22 model with the full length barrel and handguard. Build quality is fine, shoots fine, avoid the 25 round magazines, those jam.

I dont mind full length, it could be fun to see how accurate it can be in range.

I managed about 1.5” at 100yards with a decent scope. It was very ammo dependant though. Some much worse.
