Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Kinda insane that despite our economy going down the shitter, the LPC is gaining EVEN MORE POPULARITY. We are probably stuck with an LPC majority for the next 10-20 years to be honest, as Canadians are hopelessly captured by the party. I have no idea how a single political party in any country can pull this off outside of being a literal dictatorship.

I’m honestly gob smacked at how captured the Canadian public are. Life is getting objectively worse for the everyday Canadian and the LPC are not only responsible but now passing draconian spy bills to boot. Doing nothing to address our rampant crime problem and yet people are still clamouring for daddy Carney to stay in power. It’s actually insane.

I don’t think it’s a matter of “things have to get worse” but more so “it will get worse” because why should the LPC honestly care about improving the country, they keep getting voted back in. Once we completely lose all property rights, once it’s unaffordable to even get a loaf of bread, maybe Canadians will wake up….too bad we’re disarmed already by that point.

Canadians are both chronically online and incredibly gullible when it comes to MSM consumption and as such now have a case of incurable stage 5 Trump derangement syndrome.

I think deep down they know things are getting worse, but it is the cowards way to never admit any fault and blame it on someone, anyone else. And low and behold there is an ultra convenient, single polarizing, news and world events dominating, individual to blame for literally everything.

I don't think we get a conservative government in Canada while Trump is in office. The liberals have a perfect scapegoat and if they torpedo the trade talks (which will no doubt cause Trump to go off) they can blame the recession/collapse entirely on Trump. It's got a bow on it for liberals to deflect all criticism and their loyal following to keep their head in the clouds. That debt to the truth will come due eventually, but will be something that could take decades to reverse. Country is cooked boys.
