Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Any positive news on the gun ban?

I’d say the biggest documented news is Ontario solicitor general joining the CCFR in the Supreme Court case.

Unofficially, it’s the fact there’s been zero movement for this ban since the end of the declaration period. They still have 67,000 rifles to collect and no way to actually collect them outside of Quebec and Waterloo Region and Winnipeg, which by my count is not where all 67,000 rifles are currently located.

Demented Chipmunk still haven’t announced who is doing the mythical mobile collection units or getting the army of 70 year old retired RCMP officers. So honestly that’s good news to me!

I find it nuts that they still haven't made any announcements on who or how they're going to collect. October is coming up fast. They literally have no clue whatsoever what they are doing here and I think they realized they're screwed.

If they were proud of this file, we'd see Carney trying to distract constantly with it.

Honestly, I don't get how the fuck Carney is polling so well still. With his $500k catering bill for airplane food, the recently announced recession, Bill C22 backlash, failing on the trade file then literally saying "Canada can help Make America Great Again!" at a speech in the US. How the hell is the liberal base still supporting this guy? He's literally gone against EVERYTHING he campaigned on and the elbozos up crowd is still cheering him on and licking his boots like he's the new coming of Christ.

Honestly, I think Carney is a buffoon dressed in a suite who talks the talk, but has no idea how to walk the walk.

Guarantee, you could pull just about any decent blue collar worker or business owner off the street and they'd do a better job of managing the economy of this country. The guy literally has no clue what he's doing when it comes to economics. So much for the "brilliant banker" who has somehow managed to handle the economy worse than the drama teacher. What a jackass that guy is.
