Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

Two things happened today that i'd like to share.

I went to the grand opening of new reliable gun store here. Although i drove an hour to get there, i just turned around in the parking lot. Why? The line up was impossibly wrong at 915am. It looked like elvis or beatles got resurrected. 

This shows even in a bleeding heart province like bc, there is a strong firearms community. That's encouraging. 

Again here in bc, new leader of the opposition got elected. Kerry lynne fidland did an interview with Ccfr as a leadership candidate. BC ndp is so far behind in the poll. She will be likely the next premier of bc. Which will be a good thing for the firearms community here in bc.

Something people forget is that despite pretty much non stop gun laws the number of PAL holders in Canada has kept increasing. Now I am not sure what the numbers for 2025 are going to be but I have a feeling where going to see more PAL holders then the year before.

Stength in numbers. I got my son applied for pal pending approval. Maybe i will convince wife and daughter to join the cause.

3/4 people in my household got PALs. I doubt I would ever convince my mom though sadly.
