Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

But imagine how much worse it would have been if we voted for PP! He would be trashing the environment, cutting carbon/fuel tax, attacking workers and unions, and (honestly i can't keep up with all the 'terrible conservative' things that Carney's doing)!

Its funny because carney is like doing all of that right now, looking to change labour laws making it illegal to strike, and could be seen as thrashing the environment by leftist lense. Everything they say is an admission of guilt lol

Plus, any good things Carney has done and been praised for, are Polievres ideas! It's actually hilarious.

The way he was praised for dropping the "divisive carbon tax" - Polievres idea

The so called bail reform we're all still waiting on, but they've been praised for talking about - Polievre/CPC idea

Cutting the tax on fuel right now - Polievre idea

Building up industry (although LPC is just faking it but Carney is being praised for it even though he hasn't done shit?) - Polievre has been talking about this for years.

Cutting immigration (once again, LPC only did slightly, and are now being praised for "getting immigration and student visas under control - Polievres idea/CPC platform for years.

Literally everything Carney is trying to take credit for, have been cornerstones of the CPC platform for several years now. The only difference is, Carney isn't actually doing any of it meaningfully, just little token gestures.

Oh yeah, and their stupid little 1% income tax break (while then raising EI/CPP contributions, so we don't actually take home any extra), the media plastered that story everywhere for a while about " Carney giving tax breaks to Canadians. Polievre was proposing a 15% income tax cut, that would actually make a noticeable difference in the lives of Canadians.

Oh yeah, and also the "no GST on first home purchase", Polievre I'm pretty sure had even proposed that idea while Trudeau was still in office!

Fucking insanity in this country. Keep electing the half assed party of lies and BS, while ignoring and crapping on the guy who would actually do these things in a meaningful way.

Every idea they stole has been a shitty half assed version so pierre cant use it anymore as a running campaign promise thing. They are being malicious on purpose, they are mad we didnt like trudeau at the end and want tk ruin the whole nation.

I think thats why pierre has to get very very big with his ideas. Do shit Carney woildnt think about touching. Some big one are no uh how about no federal taxes on income if you are 25 or under  (lets capital it at like 120k so it doesnt get abused) ? Think of the wealth this would generate for the youth and what they could do with that? Carney wouldnt touch it AND we can see the boomers true colours where they cant hide behind anything when hating on it, it would be hating directly on the boomers. Another one is no federal tax or cpp/ei contribution on any Overtime. Also, im torn between putting an actual tax on housing sales so boomers can finally pay their fair share and we can finally limit this whole "canada economy is just based on housing speculation" and bury it but also not putting a tax on it because taxes are cringe. But again it can fuck over the boomers a tad so I say do it.

Pierre needs to do these ideas because Carney can NOT support any of these ideas since it will fly directly against his boomer core voting block. Thats how pierre sets himself apart.
