The new Liberal excuse is that the recession is all Alberta's fault LMAO

9

u/gamercast1337 May 30 '26

No fucking way you gotta be capping, how are they spinning this?

13

u/AnonCGN178 May 30 '26

I should've clarified that it was Liberal boomers on facebook blaming Alberta, not the party itself. They were trying to blame the Alberta referendum for spooking investors.

8

u/gamercast1337 May 30 '26

But what happened to the Iran war excuse? That would have been th quarter it was in. No one gave a shit about the damn referendum (besides Albertans) until like what, 2 weeks ago?

Boomers are evil and will lie to your face directly. I fucking hate them.

Dude I was trying to tell a older coworker that even in the states they are still paying less for gas then we are and she starting freaking out saying that it’s not true and started going on a little rant about trump and I just excused myself. Like they have no idea how the world works and how the Canadain government is just fucking over everyone and stick to believing what they see on CBC,CNN etc

it legitimate only takes a google search to see the facts but why even bother with some of them at this point, I’ve heard them openly cheer about trump getting targeted and its just disgusting like you can have you opinions about the guy like him or not but nobody should be cheering for open calls for violence or attempts on someones life

But imagine how much worse it would have been if we voted for PP! He would be trashing the environment, cutting carbon/fuel tax, attacking workers and unions, and (honestly i can't keep up with all the 'terrible conservative' things that Carney's doing)!

14

u/gamercast1337 May 30 '26

Its funny because carney is like doing all of that right now, looking to change labour laws making it illegal to strike, and could be seen as thrashing the environment by leftist lense. Everything they say is an admission of guilt lol

Plus, any good things Carney has done and been praised for, are Polievres ideas! It's actually hilarious.Ā

The way he was praised for dropping the "divisive carbon tax" - Polievres ideaĀ

The so called bail reform we're all still waiting on, but they've been praised for talking about - Polievre/CPC idea

Cutting the tax on fuel right now - Polievre ideaĀ

Building up industry (although LPC is just faking it but Carney is being praised for it even though he hasn't done shit?) - Polievre has been talking about this for years.

Cutting immigration (once again, LPC only did slightly, and are now being praised for "getting immigration and student visas under control - Polievres idea/CPC platform for years.

Literally everything Carney is trying to take credit for, have been cornerstones of the CPC platform for several years now. The only difference is, Carney isn't actually doing any of it meaningfully, just little token gestures.Ā

Oh yeah, and their stupid little 1% income tax break (while then raising EI/CPP contributions, so we don't actually take home any extra), the media plastered that story everywhere for a while about " Carney giving tax breaks to Canadians. Polievre was proposing a 15% income tax cut, that would actually make a noticeable difference in the lives of Canadians.

Oh yeah, and also the "no GST on first home purchase", Polievre I'm pretty sure had even proposed that idea while Trudeau was still in office!

Fucking insanity in this country. Keep electing the half assed party of lies and BS, while ignoring and crapping on the guy who would actually do these things in a meaningful way.Ā

Every idea they stole has been a shitty half assed version so pierre cant use it anymore as a running campaign promise thing. They are being malicious on purpose, they are mad we didnt like trudeau at the end and want tk ruin the whole nation.Ā

I think thats why pierre has to get very very big with his ideas. Do shit Carney woildnt think about touching. Some big one are no uh how about no federal taxes on income if you are 25 or underĀ  (lets capital it at like 120k so it doesnt get abused) ? Think of the wealth this would generate for the youth and what they could do with that? Carney wouldnt touch it AND we can see the boomers true colours where they cant hide behind anything when hating on it, it would be hating directly on the boomers. Another one is no federal tax or cpp/ei contribution on any Overtime. Also, im torn between putting an actual tax on housing sales so boomers can finally pay their fair share and we can finally limit this whole "canada economy is just based on housing speculation" and bury it but also not putting a tax on it because taxes are cringe. But again it can fuck over the boomers a tad so I say do it.

Pierre needs to do these ideas because Carney can NOT support any of these ideas since it will fly directly against his boomer core voting block. Thats how pierre sets himself apart.

I’m happy this country is failing. 100% deserves itĀ

Well yes people who paid attention knew it was a zombie economy only kept up by TFW, government jobs and a really high housing bubble and now that those options are severely limited we are going to see it spiral and shrink even moreĀ

That's exactly what I keep saying. we have realistically been in a recession for about 5 years. GDP growth has purely been from immigration, despite us all getting poorerĀ

Interesting note, I was talking to a guy from Africa at my work, only been in the country for 3 years or so, and he actually feels very let down by Canada. Everyone in his home country thought Canada was a great place, that hed live a good life here, and he says he has been incredibly disappointed, and even working full time in construction, he has to have a second job at night in a kitchen just to get by. He feels like he was lied to with the promise of CanadaĀ

His goal now is just to save up $50k to return home and start a business, and leave Canada. It was amazing how let down and disappointed he was, after thinking Canada would bring him prosperity. He actually said he felt wealthier living at home in Africa because at least everything was cheap there. Pretty amazing to hear that first hand.

He even said to me that he thinks our immigration system is crazy! And that we're letting way too many people in.

He was actually quite a conservative as well in his beliefs, and thinks some of the stuff going on in this country is batshit crazy. It was a very interesting chat.

I use a cab to get to work where all of my drivers are immigrants and hear this same thing from a lot of them. Two of my drivers from Sri Lanka have already moved back because life was too expensive here. The ones who came before 2015 all say life was much better before the Liberal's

14

u/ThreadlockerBlue May 30 '26

But it’s just a ā€œtechnicalā€ recession! Like yeah, sorry sir but your daughter’s just a ā€œlittleā€ pregnant.

11

u/gamercast1337 May 30 '26

But canada has never been more affordable 😌

11

u/Vahuo89 May 30 '26

Actually a good thing for gun owners as it makes any kind of buyback a very hard pill to swallow and justify for the government.

11

u/WeightedDips95 Jun 01 '26

Its crazy to me that people still think more than a third of Canadians have a brain or the ability to scrutinize what they hear from the Liberal governments and it's organs in the media.

Hell, theyre already making excuses as to why not only Carney hasnt achieved an economic miracle as he has been claiming for over a year and up until 2 days ago, but theyre also making excuses as to why hes plunged Canada into recession.

Carney could literally burn money on live TV and be photographed with Ghislaine maxwell and they wouldnt care.

They 100% would not bat an eye if he spent billions trying to take our shit while their children rot away in their basements.

u/HappyCan7250 Jun 01 '26

It's actually alarming how some Canadians are just screaming "BUT PP!!! ITS HARPERS FAULT!!!" "AT LEAST HES NOT POLIEVRE!!!"Ā

Same with the new BC con leader. Everytime I think we might finally get change, that things are bad enough that people might look around and go "what the fuck did we do to this country", they just double down and scream about conservatives. It's extremely alarming and makes me think we may just be doomed as a nation. Splitting up may be the best way forward.

5

u/WeightedDips95 Jun 01 '26

Agreed on all pointsĀ

6

u/gamercast1337 Jun 02 '26

Splitting up IS the only way forward for what youve said. To liberals, boomers specifically you cannot convince them otherwise. They will NOT see the destruction of their choices until its too late, and as a young person I am responding appropriately to the existential threat these boomers and liberals possess to my existence. If I am denied even the most basic fucking job to work, forget being able to have a family working a good job to provide for them, owning a house blah blah blah, then what do i have to lose?Ā

Congratulations boomers and liberals you created the group of people you hate and your only way to deal with it is to double down instead of stepping back and realizing "hold on we need to change this".

6

u/WeightedDips95 Jun 02 '26

Boomers allegedly have higher rates of narcissism, something I have no trouble believing at all from my own experience, and narcissists get angry at you when you call them out. So it tracks that they would get mad at fellow Canadians for reminding them theyve destroyed the country. The anger at separatism is just pure narcissistic rage. They really just want to impose their deluded and destructive worldview on us and for us to thank them.

1

u/Cool_Ad_9140 Jun 13 '26

I understand your frustration, but as a boomer whose never voted Liberal or NDP in my life, don't blame us all. I grew up under 16 years of the Trudeau Sr government and paid 24% interest in 1982 as newlyweds on our car loan, as prime was 22%. Inflation and unemployment were at their highest rate since the depression. It makes me so angry at my fellow generation who remember how hard those years were, yet they continue voting Liberal! I'm terrified for our future generations!

8

u/gamercast1337 May 30 '26

But thats why they need to do it. Guns can be used for hunting, which means you dont need to rely on rhe gov to save you in this recession. Also it can be used for redacted which will explode further when the economy goes bad and people are uh "permanently borrowing" other people's stuff to survive

4

u/Lumindan May 31 '26

That's funny you think they need justification lol

3

u/Vahuo89 May 31 '26

Because it's a lot of money for a non-problem to get your voter base to back when they should be looking toward making things more affordable for the average CanadianĀ

9

u/Lumindan May 31 '26

To be clear, I don't disagree with you. They SHOULD be looking out for their citizens.

But the core issue is you're approaching this like the government cares about it's people and that they aren't just furthering their own agenda / ideology. The Liberals have proven exactly how far feelings and vibes can be used as justification.

If the government had been held to facts and science (as is evidence by the numerous experts and studies that have proven how 'harmful' firearms ownership is); we'd have way more lax laws and a lot less OIC bullshit.
