I wonder what other insane thing Carney can do that the boomers will be in full support of that makes everyone else go "what the fuck?".

Maybe we should push the government to actually do those taxes on home buying/selling since that would really hurt the boomers. We need to play their game where they do anything they can to make our lives more miserable to support their cruise filled life.

I truly just wanted to be left alone with my firearms but the boomers didnt like that I wasnt worshipping the ground they walked on. Truly the the most evil generation ever and the history books will NOT be kind to them.

Nothing. Carney voters are basically maple MAGA.

Seriously, every accusation is actually a declaration. They call us maple maga and yet they follow their leader like a death cult and no matter how bad the liberals do they swallow it up.

Maybe we should start calling them maple maga?

Increasing t*xation on under 45s to increase OAS payouts 🤣🤣🤣😩😩😩

E: The comment was made in jest, but loking at eu policy, germany is trying to enact policy that would t*x child-free young adults to help with elder health care...so wont be too long till we get something like that

They would 100% support  this by the way. And then they would be demanding to have the skeleton crew rcmp that's left go beat up any protestors protesting it.

Im not joking when I say we need to increase taxes on the eldery since they disproportionately consume to taxes. They should have to pay more. Pay up or lose your voting rights.

Getting tired of people blaming our issues on boomers when many are hunters and the majority you will see at a gun show.

We just watched one of the most popular American republicans (Thomas Massey) get primaried simply by spending enough money propagandizing boomers to vote for someone they never heard of. The liberals have a lock on the media so they will just keep doing that. It couldn't be easier for them at this point now that they have this figured out. The bright side is that the boomers are aging out and this tactic has an expiration date.

In the mean time, be kind to your boomers, they aren't evil, just ignorant. If you can get them away from the idiot box (broadcast tv/radio), perhaps try and replace it with a streaming service with no ads. Show them how to find their favorite old-timey tv shows.

I agree with most of it but I will continue to chose the antagonize option like im in rdr2 anytime I can with a boomer. They earned it.

Sigh. Another "The Boomers are the root of all of our problems!" post.

Jesus, grow an imagination.

I mean what other cohort votes in overwhelming numbers for the liberal party, and claps like seals at everything they do?

14

u/Natural_Comparison21 May 25 '26

No other age cohort supports the liberals by over 50%. Only the boomers.

We can also blame the youth for not getting involved with politics.

They are the ones keeping the liberals in power. The party that’s currently trying to throw us all in prison. The hates justified

The opposition is doing their part too by holding on to an unpopular leader. They should have ditched PP at the leadership review.

I mean the vote share says otherwise.

I always love seeing people who despise Pierre and the conservatives try to offer "helpful" advice. Might as well ask the party to dissolve so we can only have one ruling party. The conservatives couldn't do anything about the NDP imploding and the bloc losing huge chunks.

Remember. It is honestly impressive how hard people will try to smear the "other" party despite them not being in power for over a decade.

Must be some great tasting kool aid you've got there.

u/Abramshunter May 25 '26

People need to get out of their right wing echo chambers. Talk to people in the real world, Pierre is very unpopular with lots of moderates even in the boomer generation, and even if it's wrong Pierre's image is tainted with his perception as a lifelong politician and he has been associated too much with Trump in the public eye for enough voters to accept him. I hope he can fix his image before the next election (or Carney does poorly enough to lose support) but right now things are not looking good for us. The CPC going to a clean slate with a new leader would have been better for our future chances in my opinion.

u/demonlicious May 29 '26

your strategy of winning with 35% of the vote because the other votes are split in 3 does not inspire hope for the future. Did you know conservatives used to get more than 50% of the vote when they had a likeable candidate?

4

u/Lumindan May 29 '26

Oh we're just making up statistics now to try and push a narrative? Let's just correct that misinformation and clear that up with a quick history lesson.

Conservatives aren’t the only party that benefits from vote splits, they literally all do (except the greens lol), I never understand why people think is some kind of gotcha. The Liberals governed multiple times with well under 40% of the vote too. In 2015, the Liberals got a majority government with 39.5% of the vote. In 2021 they formed government again with about 32%.

Did you know conservatives used to get more than 50% of the vote

The idea that Conservatives “used to get over 50%” regularly isn’t really true in the modern era. Since the 1980s, hitting 50% nationally has been extremely rare for any federal party because Canada is more politically fragmented now and the landscape has changed significantly. Even highly successful Conservative leaders like Stephen Harper won majorities with around 39 to 40% of the vote.

when they had a likeable candidate?

There it is. I love how people somehow blame the entire state of election in the country to Pierre and the conservatives. Who needs nuance when you can just blame a single person and a single party?

You do realize the conservatives gained seats in the last election right? What could they have done when the bloc and NDP bled out over 28 seats?

What is your strategy? That they decapitate their party leader and run someone new or fragment the party so we can go to a one party country? That wouldn't work because literally anyone the conservatives run would get smeared. Are we just ignoring how the media treated O'Toole (Trump of the north!) or stone cold harper?

Should they be more Liberal? What's the point of being a conservative if you don't have conservative values? Should they just lie and then push their own agenda?

The easiest way for the Conservatives to get a government formed has always been the left breaking up with itself and the Bloc not shitting the bed while they stick to their guns and push their base, this isn't new and it's how multiple conservative governments have been formed in the past.

At the end of the day, elections are won by persuading enough voters in enough ridings; should the conservatives have pivoted and hammered more on cost of living or fighting trump or whatever appeals to the masses? Sure but hindsight is a harsh mistress, you should've bought a winning lottery ticket yesterday but here we are.

Located the boomer

u/gamercast1337 May 25 '26

Its like asking a fire to stop producing heat, or for 2 + 2 to not equal 4. It is literally a fact the boomers can be blamed for so many of the issues in our country, rhe USA, hell almost any country that has them like the way they are.

I think China one of the few that doesnt have this boomer issue (I could be wrong) because mao purposely fucked them over in his great leap forward bullshit.
