Rash of Recent Police Actions Against Firearms/drugs/gangs

Is anyone else pissed off by all the recent news of police stopping firearm smuggling, illegal firearms, drug busts, etc.?

Liberals have been soft on crime for their entire modern existence, catch and release, embarrassingly short sentences, and so many other policies we've complained about for decades. Well now all of a sudden they're making busts left, right, and center.

After decades of campaigning on community safety, they know their asses are finally on the line and they have to produce objective data that shows their absolute farce of a "buyback" made even the smallest dent in gun crime.

So now they're going to do all the things we've begged them for for decades, cracking down on weapon smuggling. Then they're going to attribute that reduction in crime, (that anyone with 2 braincells to rub together has known the solution was curbing illegal firearms) to taking guns away from us "dangerous and unhinged" firearms owners. Then theyre going to use that data as the basis to take the next bite out of private firearm ownership.

They're going to manufacture the data they need, by taking the steps we all know needed to be done, only to blatantly and fraudulently misrepresent that data to attack us even further....

It's just so tiresome, and predictable... and the liberal voters of this country can't be trusted to look at anything with even a modicum of critical thought.

How do you connect recent busts of firearm snuggling to more reason to turn up the heat on legal firearms owners?

You even say going after smuggling and gangs is what we want them to do. If anything it shows that we are not the problem.

They aren't cooking the numbers ffs. They just busted a string of shit rats recently and it made the news.

And you trust they will be honest with cause and effect? That they won't politicize the data?

Tightening the border will lower crime, we all know this. Then i can guarantee you when we see those numbers come down, the only talking point will be about look at this steep decline in violent crime as soon as we confiscated all these guns. They won't even acknowledge changes in policing, in sentencing, the real reasons that lead to those numbers. Then its well this first confiscation worked so well we need to take it further.

You are painting yourself as someone doesn't trust the police or the government.

This is the stereotype that the non firearm owning public looks at as a nut.

You're not helping. You're actually harming our cause and I am thinking you should like not own any firearms.

You're absolutely right i dont trust the government. Trust is a two way street, what has our government done in the last 11 years to show they're worthy of being trusted? How many campaign promises have they kept? They dont even look after their own voter base, how could i ever expect them to care about someone who doesnt vote for them, from a historically blue riding.

Honestly i cant imagine anyone trusting any government any further than they could throw them.

I dont know why you think i have a problem with the police. 95% of cops are great people, who genuinely want to make their communities better. Are there bad apples? Sure, there are anywhere, but thats the exception not the rule. There are lots of bad apples in the firearm community, any group numbering in the millions will have then, does that make the whole community bad?

In case you haven't noticed, we've already been labed the problem, the villains. A not insignificant percentage of this country hates us, that sentiment is entirely driven for political gain by a government who hates us.
