Rash of Recent Police Actions Against Firearms/drugs/gangs

Is anyone else pissed off by all the recent news of police stopping firearm smuggling, illegal firearms, drug busts, etc.?

Liberals have been soft on crime for their entire modern existence, catch and release, embarrassingly short sentences, and so many other policies we've complained about for decades. Well now all of a sudden they're making busts left, right, and center.

After decades of campaigning on community safety, they know their asses are finally on the line and they have to produce objective data that shows their absolute farce of a "buyback" made even the smallest dent in gun crime.

So now they're going to do all the things we've begged them for for decades, cracking down on weapon smuggling. Then they're going to attribute that reduction in crime, (that anyone with 2 braincells to rub together has known the solution was curbing illegal firearms) to taking guns away from us "dangerous and unhinged" firearms owners. Then theyre going to use that data as the basis to take the next bite out of private firearm ownership.

They're going to manufacture the data they need, by taking the steps we all know needed to be done, only to blatantly and fraudulently misrepresent that data to attack us even further....

It's just so tiresome, and predictable... and the liberal voters of this country can't be trusted to look at anything with even a modicum of critical thought.

Your “critical thought” has a lot of assumptions. Its a problem to fight crime now to you because they are a liberal government? The police have been around regardless of the political party in power they are doing their job. Quote me an article that attributes these recent busts to the OIC’s.

I said they're going to start a tough on crime policy to justify their unfettered spending on a project entirely crafted to buy votes in quebec and toronto.

Then when the solutions that every police chief, security expert, or any decently competent citizen in the country has been advocating for for decades works, they'll pat themselves on the back that their gun policy is the sole reason that violent crime statistics drop.

Then if it "worked so well the first time", why wouldn't they campaign on taking it further during the next election cycle?

So whats making you assume that they will solely attribute their gun policy as the reason that violent crime stats dropped? Are they patting themselves on the back with the recent busts that these happened due to their gun grabs?

Whats changed all of a sudden that would give them a reason to suddenly crack down the border smuggling thats been a plague for decades?

Trade issues with the us? Thats been going on since the first trump administration (usmca debacle)

A new majority government? The liberals had strong majorities before, and tougher borders was never going to be an issue that would be a wedge issue between any of the political parties. They all wouldve supported it in some form, if they wanted it done it would've been done.

As for patting themselves on the back, the confiscation hasnt happened yet, but believe me the voters they're trying to target will have long forget all about this uptick in arrests at the border by the time the liberals need to pull out crime statistics to campaign and justify their spending.
