Shooting Double cheeked up on a long weekend
Did a little crown land excursion this past weekend.
Around 3.5 seconds from firing to hearing the impact, guess the range!

Anyone know the legality of shooting at hydro cuts? Not hating on OP, im just curious because its the only place i can find near me with enough range, my buddy says he shoots in one all the time but that doesnt mean its legal LOL

Can't find anything that says it's illegal to shoot on crown land transmission corridors. Check for signage, the crown land atlas and municipal bylaws.
Typically easements through private land are where you run into trouble.

again i am not a lawyer:
There are already laws for what is illegal a what must be followed as laws. What's done within and without those are normally up to us to know. While there isn't a sign every 20 meters that says "OK to shoot rifles here", there are lots of laws related to firearm discharge in Canada and they are normally at all levels of government including local bylaws. Gotta know 'em all. And don't forget our old commercials... "Play safe"EDIT: This is really just a reply to your first sentence, I guess.

There are laws that govern firearms discharge, yes. Do your due diligence before you shoot.
Signage can be present on crown land prohibiting certain uses, eg there are parcels of crown land in Southern Ontario where hunting is allowed but target shooting is not.

When I off-road thru hydro lanes, there’s always a few deer stands on the edges. So quite a few people do shoot there. Does that mean for sure it’s legal? Idk.

Not a lawyer, but my understanding is it's not illegal unless there is a maintained roadway, and then the rules around discharging a firearm relative to a road come into play. Or if you're shooting AT the structure, but that's an entirely different conversation.
