Buy recommendations Derya Pump 9mm

Post image

Looks like these are out now. 12 inch and 16 inch. I'd like to see one in person before I'd consider getting one. 9mm would be nice to plink with. I missed out on getting a 9mm. These are currently at SFRC.

Why not just buy a homesteader for basically the same price? 🤷‍♂️

To be fair, it wasn't too long ago  the homesteader was on dale for 1k.  Now though I'm seeing them for 1200 as the cheapest. So $500 bucks  cheaper for the pump

Would have been great to buy one for 1k. Damn.

Have you handled one? I did before the 2024 OIC and it was pretty lackluster even for 1000 compared to its competition. The Henry belongs at basic Ruger PCC 9 prices.

I haven't actually. I feel like it's really hard to justify spending 1200 on one. My local gun club doesn't really do much 2/3 gun anymore either so it would be a questionable buy. I think one town over they do steel challenge so might be able to use it for that.

I actually really like my Ruger PCC.. seems some people here don't like it. Yea, it's super basic and isn't as nice as some of the ar 9 variants. But it works (worked) at a great price.

My short, consise review

Bought the 16" Derya.

Actually feels good in my hands.

sights are too low for any use. put on a red dot =better. The 12" with rail mounted AR sights are probably better.

There is no bolt release like a shotgun. difficult to open it a crack to check chamber,

Trigger is not bad (not match by any means).

Careful with the magazine, I shoved one in with the bolt open and it went and covered half the bolt. Had to pull it back down to engage the catch in order to close the bolt.

Worst thing is the front sight on 16" is drilled through to the bore. Same thing on the pump 22. Yup you heard it here first. Pretty hokey, sent it to customer service (SFRC) aparantly factory said it is OK ( I call BS.) but I think that I may have a work around.

Have shot more than about 25 rds through at 25 Yds. Some handloads 124 gr. hit the target. some totally missed. I would easily say it is not me, its you. Well maybe this is the worst thing.
