I think this is how this red dot is designed! I tried to zero it by using the bore laser thingy. Will take this to the range and see how it will perform.

Yup it's definitely how it's designed (though not ideal). I have a similar one and there's a post in the middle that you adjust for elevation. If you need to significantly lower the dot to match POI it'll end up looking like this. Give it a try and if it fails or breaks you can always save for a better optic. For what it's worth I think it looks cool! Let us know how it holds up
