I really am surprised this style of chassis isn't already a commercially available thing.

I'm working on something similar. It's got its own unique style, but similar to an AK

potential to use Zhukov furniture??

Hmm well, it can use any AK style pistol grip. Rear has a pic rail to use picatinny style stocks (or pic to buffer-tube adapters). I THINK I've seen pic to ak-style folding adapters but I'm not 100% sure where to find one. Lower handguard is a custom piece, it's attached semi-permanently to the main steel body, but it kind of looks like a Zhukov handguard anyways

Wasnt much market interest until the Type 81s got banned. Pre 2024 this sort of stuff was mostly laughed at and shunned.

The market for SKS chassis is a lot smaller than most people realize. A chassis like this would require stamping, and that is expensive to get going and requires a lot of volume to justify.
Canada is unique right now in that we can have the SKS and almost nothing else. Most other places you'd just go buy an AK or similar gun before dumping money into modding an SKS into one.

I get that, but i feel like a lot of the stocks & chassis on the market all have unique geometry when the simplest design is more or less staring us in the face.

I really don’t understand the conversions from 5 round OEM mags you can load quickly with a stripper clip to … 5 round duckbill mag which is pain to insert correctly o. First try and impossible to carry in magazine pouches …. Like why?

Yeah I found it a bit ridiculous as well, I sell these stocks for 1300. Think he’s trying to flip it but doesn’t seem to be selling

Hey that’s my work! Cool to see online.
I was surprised to see this guy selling it as I only sold it to him last month, he told me he’s trying to flip it for a profit lol. I thought 2500 was a lot as I sell the stocks for 13.
I’m working on an underfolder version this week, if it holds up to a couple more range visits without issues I might offer it as a choice for people. PM me if you want info on how these are made

Scalpers/flippers bother me lol. They buy the limited amount of stock there is, then jack up the price so you have no choice if you’re desperate enough. I like your work!

This was one of my first prototypes I made, back when I was still figuring out how to make these properly. I sold it at a cheaper price to him as the build quality wasn’t as high as I wanted it to be. He said it was fine for shooting however
