Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

I seriously dont understand anyone that hates on the US. Because they elect someone they dont like every once in a while? Like if you dont like Trump its the same country that elected Obama twice? Its literally a working democracy they claim to love. Or is democracy one party rule and unelected majorities like we have, as long as its their guy?

Even while they have Trump, if you want to live in a woke hell hole, they have states like California and Oregon if you want junkies in your shit and your kids to be indoctrinated to hate themselves. Thats the beauty of it, theres something for everyone. Rhetorical question i suppose. The modern leftist is totalitarian and wants everyone around the world to be forced the live up to the ideals they dont even come close to.

Sorry for the rant, pretty besides the point.

What absurd logic lmao. Having criminals in prison means you dont have freedom? So by your logic if a country simply never punished crime and let criminals terrorize their population, that would be a free country? Canada is freer than the US?

I mean sure, the possibility exists for corruption and a perverse incentive, but that would be illegal. Hadnt heard of Kids for Cash but from what I just read on wikipedia, the judges involved didnt go unpunished. They were disbarred and charged with crimes, and their victims seem to have had their records expunged.

So its not like it codified anywhere to send people to prison for money.

So yeah, compared to Canada and parts of europe, where you can go to jail for saying the wrong things to the wrong people- this list getting broader by the year, have your life taken from you for not getting jabbed, owning arbitrarily banned property, the US is much freer.

Don’t commit crimes maybe? Punish criminals more and the law abiding less and that’s freedom. Too bad liberals prioritize it the other way around. Otherwise Canada could much better.
