Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

You know what I absolutely love about liberals in Canada, they’re so terrified of conservatives they elected an authoritarian banker,

So far he’s

  1. Disarming the populace
  2. Passing a bill to end all encryption in Canada
  3. Hinted at making VPN’s illegal
  4. Passed a law to make whatever speech illegal
  5. Encouraging foreign soldiers to join the caf
  6. Stole a majority through back room deals and ignored the will of the people

Add all these up, makes you wonder what the LPC are up 🤔

Anyway I bet LPC voters are happy it’s not Harper in office

It's actually fucking nuts that this is somewhat a possibility, and not just total whack job conspiracy now. They literally force companies to have backdoor entry to activate your phones microphone, without a warrant and listen in on everything you say. Granted they need "probably cause", but that's a pretty vague, broad allowance to use it. 

I cant believe people arent more outraged over this bill. Could a minor misdemeanor be probable cause? Does it only apply to suspicion of serious charges? Who knows, all I know is it will be abused.

I hope one day once the liberals are out, we'll get "The Liberal Files", sort of like the Canadian Epstein files, and we'll find out all the crazy weird corrupt shit they've been up to for the last decade. This country has actually gone insane, we're fucked.
