Recurring Canadaguns Politics and Debate Thread

Please post all your Gun Politics or Ban-related ideas, questions, initiatives, comments, suggestions, news articles, and recommendations in this thread. This thread recurs every 14 days.

First and foremost, this is a Canadian Gun subreddit, so keep it at least decently related to both of those things.

This thread is not for general politics, there are plenty other subs that are meant for that. Off-topic threads may be removed, especially if they are leading to personal attacks, flame wars, etc.

To prevent the main sub being flooded with dozens of similar threads, text posts complaining about/asking about/chatting about gun politics will be sent here.

We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Keep this Canadian gun politics related and polite. Off-topic stuff, flame wars, negative generalizations against groups, personal attacks and gate-keeping will be removed. Please flag any comments to bring to the attention of mods otherwise exercise your upvoting and downvoting ability.

You know what I absolutely love about liberals in Canada, they’re so terrified of conservatives they elected an authoritarian banker,

So far he’s

  1. Disarming the populace
  2. Passing a bill to end all encryption in Canada
  3. Hinted at making VPN’s illegal
  4. Passed a law to make whatever speech illegal
  5. Encouraging foreign soldiers to join the caf
  6. Stole a majority through back room deals and ignored the will of the people

Add all these up, makes you wonder what the LPC are up 🤔

Anyway I bet LPC voters are happy it’s not Harper in office

Hinted at making VPN’s illegal

Friendly reminder to start looking into Meshtastic, Meshcore and Reticulum.

Meshtastic is easy to use if you're not super tech savvy. Reticulum aims to eventually replicate the functions of the internet completely over radio frequencies (Meshtastic, Meshcore, etc data can all be wired/fed into a Reticulum hub), aided with internet-connected hubs connecting continents/population centers.

EDIT: You also shouldn't import a Baofeng DM-32 from Aliexpress for $100 CAD. That would be soooo bad. You definitely shouldn't enable encryption either. That would also be verrry bad.😿

It's like me and one other guy on my local Meshcore net and there's about 12 on Meshtastic. It's mostly just people spamming "test" back and forth and one guy complaining about immigrants.

Because it’s just enthusiasts on it right now. When the internet is cable TV-ified, people will be flocking to Meshtastic.
