Feets / Collection / My build MRA Maverick .308

-Warne cantilever scope mount ( not 100% commited to this one, if anyone has any reccomendations ill take em)

Nice. I'm starting to realize I enjoy shooting manual action guns more than semi autos, so either an MRA straight pull or a Henry lever action is my next purchase for sure.

Because you only have limited shitty options, or because you legitimately like manual actions?

This isn't a snarky comment, I'm just curious if you got into the game late (no shade) or if you've been shooting for a while. We had some pretty skookum semiautomatics prior to the ban(s).

I’m probably in a weird minority, but I enjoy the experience of needing to do a little more on my end. Like when people do the Enfield “mad minute” and such, there’s a pride in the difficulty and success. I like setting up steels at a few different distances and smacking them with my .357 S&W because there’s a challenge in cycling the action and staying on target.

Semi-autos are fantastic and definitely have a place for hunting, clays, shooting competitions, and such.

If I’m just at the range, it feels like I’m getting a less satisfying return throwing money down range with centre fire prices (SKS gets a pass here with the cheaper Redbox and spamcan ammo). As a military history nerd, there’s a lot of semi-autos I would love to own from a collector type position (the C1 rifle being top of my list)
