No, not a single vortex red dot is worth the money vs other red dots on the market. I would recommend watching the Hop & Brass Facts videos on vortex red dots. They just have such a high failure rate compared to all the other chinese optics, and they have a vortex warranty premium fee aswell.
If you want something better for the same price buy a holosun and stick it on a direct mount.
Regarding the Hop video where he mentions failing Defender ST and XL models I had the common loss of electrical connection to the battery that many other reported. I took someone else's advice and gently pulled up on the outer batter contacts on my ST an XL red dot so they now press into the battery with more force. I have not had the issue with either red dot since. Another solution is to place a piece of tap on the inside of the battery lid to increase pressure on the battery. The 3rd solution is to send it back to Vortex. I don't know if this is still an ongoing issue for Vortex on the ST or XL models. Mine were purchased in November of 2024 and would assume by now that Vortex has eliminated this issue.
