Milsurps / Prohib Deactivated firearms?

Since so much has been banned I wanted to try something new and ask y'all about dewats. Anyone own them? Or hate them? I can imagine we might get a lot of dewat AR's come october of this year (since they were originally registered). Better that than handed in.

Just curious what r/canadaguns thinks about that category of "non-firearms" in general.

I would highly recommend you simply chop the receiver and turn it into a parts kit if you absolutely have to. Deactivation is a far worse option and renders every part on the gun useless. Also the amnesty will be extended because of the supreme court case.

AR uppers are not considered the receiver BUT they were made a prohibited device in the OIC so you can’t keep the upper either.

And just wait until they say the “parts” are also prohibited. With the description of an empty metal tube (no spring and no follower) being a high capacity magazine I await the future attempted boot upon the neck.
