Milsurps / Prohib Deactivated firearms?

Since so much has been banned I wanted to try something new and ask y'all about dewats. Anyone own them? Or hate them? I can imagine we might get a lot of dewat AR's come october of this year (since they were originally registered). Better that than handed in.

Just curious what r/canadaguns thinks about that category of "non-firearms" in general.

I managed to get a Chinese Tokarev just before the handgun freeze. It cost $299 brand new, plus tax.

Deactivated, they sell for $600 and up on gunpost now and they're welded completely solid.

Definitely not worth it in most cases, you can probably get a full metal Airsoft gun for far less and at least you can actually pull the trigger on it.

The problem is that the Airsoft replicas are being classed as replicas and that in itself is a criminal code charge under the firearms act.
