Buy recommendations picking an LPVO

Planning to pick up a LPVO eventually for the makasi when it finally gets here.
Right now looking at vortex, was thinking the vortex venom 1-6 (470$) but just saw a sale for the vortex strike eagle for 600$. Wondering if the extra 130$ makes a difference and if these are decent optics

...or remain legal long enough to bother mounting a scope if they do. I'm giving them a year.
