Fix my gun Sks reassembly issue

Hey all

After many recommendations I got myself an SKS.

I just did a takedown and a cleaning thanks to some videos, but I’m having trouble putting it back together, namely when snapping in the trigger group.

I seem to have the mag assembled and trigger aligned well but I’m unable to snap it in place no matter how hard I push. Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT: Thanks everyone, indeed I just HIT IT EVEN HARDER!! It’s all clean and put back together

90% of problems with the SKS can be solved by beating the fucking shit out of it. Godspeed.

And not taking it apart in the first place

What does this even mean You have to take these apart

Why? If it’s not broken why take it apart?

For cleaning? Most SKSes come covered in cosmoline anyways.

Hell no. Spray it with G96, wipe off the excess and shoot it. These SKS are made from low quality metal and have low quality finish (like bbq paint). They need the grease in them. Taking it apart is a pointless exercise that results in the OP’s issue

G96 will still rust an sks You have to get the corrosive salts out Hot water and simple green. Let dry and G96

No, G96 will work just fine.

And do not spray a gun with simple green🤦‍♂️

Realy you just said I didn't TELL one to just spray g96 And you should absolutely use hot water and simple green to get the corrosive salts out NOW I KNOW YOU DONT KNOW SHIT

Yes just use G96. Apparently Ballistol works the same. It really is that simple. No need to be rude, you’re not the only one doing unnecessary stuff because they took poor advice seriously.
