There’s no fast and hard rule, it’s pretty much completely up to the CFO. However, in general, the pistol must be:
manufactured in the discipline’s calibre (22); and,
be suitable and is already used in the discipline you will participate in, or is designed specifically for the discipline.
Can’t say I’ve seen CZ Kadets in competition at all. Someone brought up Glocks, which would be easily denied as they don’t come with adjustable sights, and thus is ill-fitted for purpose.

What they forget to mention is that the exemption is only for .22 pistols and the market for .22 pistols is very slim and overpriced.
