Misc Can anyone ID this rifle?

I've been told it might be a Lee Enfield, possibly a No. 4 MK I or a SMLE. But after looking at photos the magazine here isn't located close to the trigger guard or maybe I'm misunderstanding something. It's my dad in this photo, but he passed away several years ago, or I'd have asked him directly. Anyway, I'll appreciate any insight or clues, thanks!

Hard to tell. Is that an svt40?

SVT 40 doesn’t have the barrel band I’m inclined to think ag42 like the other guy is saying
