Misc What are yall doing with your LPVOs

Have a Vortex LPVO and idk what I’m supposed to slap it on now that the gun it was supposed to be for is in timeout

May I suggest the Scout Rifle category if you want to keep with the "time out" gun's function. A 223 or 308 scout rifle would do well with an LPVO, Tikka CTR in Multicam ? However, if it isn't too "tactical" looking, it's honestly just a hunting scope. I've been shooting 1-x from Swaro for nearly 3 decades, mostly from a European shooting heritage and Sauer/Blaser guns where they have always been the "correct" scopes and worked v well for the East.

Long before the North American market called them LPVOs, they were just classic hunting scopes (at least on European guns) for game where you can expect fast movement (driven game and boar), or, for us here in NA, movement through dense wood where I prefer to see 2-3x the size of the animal as an FOV. Allows me to see the trees/gaps it is walking toward. They are also king at shots that can be 20 yards to 150 yards (my moose last fall was right there when I peaked into the woods, just off trail as I followed the cracking), shot placement benefits from being able to fully see an animal in your FOV. For us in the east, more and more Moose hunting is done walking through dense wood, less and less on open logging sites.

I'm a Moose hunter, in Quebec, my scopes have been Swaro 1-x for 25 years. Big animals in tight woods look like a patch of fur at 3x, and big animals that moves even slowly through woods within 30-50 yards are best followed with a wide FOV. Don't let North American marketing change what the scope can do, they were hunting scopes decades before they were "LPVOs."
