I'm already on the fence about the Homesteader due to fear of a ban and that's half the price. I definitely can't justify this FAL clone.

I feel you on that.  Homesteader or a Turkush 223 are expensive enough that it will hurt, but not 2400 bucks hurt....  still this gun looks nice enough that folks would be excited for it Pre bans, so now folks are even more excited
