Fix my gun sks ejecting very dirty brass

i have a chinese sks, cosmoline all cleaned up, but when i shoot it (norinco non-corrosive) the cartridges come out all dirty with some kind of soot all over them. is that normal? otherwise it works perfectly and ive never had a jam. ive just never seen a semi auto ejecting brass so dirty before

It not dirty. It’s the true color of the case. These are not copper cases, it’s copper plated steel.

In other words. Copper washed steel case

Part corrosion protection, part spark protection, partly because the copper seals against the chamber.

You can get painted cases. That are graphite… i’m not a fan.

This works well.

Old Barnal ammo used to use plain lacquered steel cases

But barnaul is built to a far better standard and the laquer coating on them helps them seal much better
