Yeah they were coming for bb guns before.

Oh my god and their rational was that “they could easily be modified to fire real bullets and I’ve seen it” Pam Demof said that.

These people literally don’t understand how metal and physics work. Like how stupid that statement is, literally clinically stupid.

Are you saying BB guns haven't been modified to fire real rounds?

Because, they have. I've seen it.

Banning guns doesn't affect anyone who's modifying a bb gun to kill someone, they don't follow the law anyway

That's not what he's implying. He's implying that metallurgy and physics prevent you from modifying a BB gun to fire live ammunition. That's incorrect. You absolutely can modify certain BB guns to fire live ammunition and I've seen it done.

See the problem with this echo chamber subreddit is a lot of you neanderthals think you're subject matter experts and you go off spouting incorrect information that make all gun owners look just a dumb as yourselves.

I worked as a Weapons technician, I worked in the civilian firearms manufacturing industry, and now I work in a law enforcement capacity and I know what gets seized, I know what's out there and I actually know what I'm talking about because this has been my livelihood for longer than some people on this subreddit have been alive. While also having a PAL longer than most people in this subreddit

I'd have almost let the comment go if he hadn't declared it was the most preposterous thing to ever be insinuated when he's in fact absolutely wrong and it 100% can be done.

By your logic we might as well ban tables because they can be used to modify weapons.

No more cars because they could be used for car bombs. Same with propane tanks.

The way to reduce violence is to get to the root of it, mental health services etc.

No need to be a jerk about it though. We have enough problems at the gate vs tearing each other a strip.

I'm not saying to ban anything. Where did I say to ban things?

No but your reasoning is attempting to justify their bans.

Just because there exists a possibility of a bb gun being modified doesn't mean bbs should be banned.

It's the same problem we're seeing now. Just because illegal guns are used in mass casualty events 30+ years ago doesn't mean we should ban ownership on semis now. But Poly believes it (or at least they push it to keep the machine running).

It's not attempting to justify their bans at all.

It's pointing out he is wrong. It is possible, and to say it isn't is more stupid than people saying it is possible.

It's pointing out he is wrong. It is possible, and to say it isn't is more stupid than people saying it is possible.

You're getting locked up over the possibility of something happening which is again, the exact logic that Poly and the Liberals use as justification.

That and calling people neaderthals on a pretty civil sub where respect is typically given isn't winning you any points.

Firstly, I'm not reading all that mess. Secondly, blow it out your self-aggrandizing anus. Thirdly, just because something can be done doesn't mean it is done easily. If you're actually afraid of bandits with modified BB guns becoming a rampant problem, a problem that justifies stricter firearms legislation, you need to get off Facebook.

You can't read it because you lack the comprehension to understand what's being written. Your final point demonstrates that fact.

Okay boomer 👍

I think you joined Reddit to have people that will actually talk to you. You used the word "I" far too many times, let other people speak once in a while, in the real world.

Are those modifications any easier than 3d printing a frame/receiver? Essentially all of the components that will ever touch the cartridge need to be replaced.
