This guys been working on a L85 project and actually got a NR FRT back from the RCMP.

This has got to be some kind of sick joke from the RCMP firearms lab

It is, they likely have some secret unwritten understanding that the firearm lab techs will classify guns objectively into the non restricted category it meets the technical requirements. Then their RCMP bosses will later secretly change the FRT to prohibited or their political masters will just OIC ban them later. Been that way for decades.

I was referring more to the fact to that the only non-restricted semi auto we now have is a copy of one of the worst service rifles ever made. And that the RCMP classified it as NR as a sick joke. Because nobody is actually going to want this thing
