Feets / Collection / My build 1.25yrs of collecting
Missing from the lineup is
- little badger
- two Ruger 10/22s
- mossberg 88
- savage 64 .22lr
Friend of mine told me about GP in Jan-Feb of ‘25, and that you can buy firearms online and have them shipped to you (I live in northern MB, closest store that sells firearms is 750km away)
Game changer. Wallet breaker.
Had PAL since 2019, and a Remington 783 that I shot once in 6 years. Sold it last year.
My favourite to shoot is probably the Kar98k, though I haven’t even shot all of them yet because of wildfire evacuation last summer and outdoor range is still buried in about 3ft of snow.

I am envious of your jungle carbine. Should have gotten one when they were somewhat more affordable.

Yeah, I wish I did too… every single one of these rifles I’ve bought at today’s market price… I got the Jungle Carbine, all matching in immaculate condition with a bayonet as well. It set me back a pretty penny lol

GP is hard on the wallet, I agree. There is some fantastic deals to be had though, I scooped up an MVP Patrol a few months back on there for $400, less than half of what they were new until they discontinued them. There is also a lot of scalpers though on there.

It’s very pretty, I believe it was arsenal refurbished in India. I’ve got a Lee Enfield crate for it with some D-Day pins/ memorabilia as a display and it’s backlit. It’s very nice

Real. I verified it had the lightning cuts/different butt pad, and it’s marked no5 with fazakerley markings before I bought it because I didn’t want a clone.

How do you like the RF224 and how does it stack up to the tm22?
I’m between RF224, TM22, or 10/22 for a fun accurate plinker.

I just got the TM22 very recently, haven’t taken it out yet.
I do enjoy the RF224, it’s a fun little thing. It’s not perfect, but I have very few issues with it as long as I’m running CCI minimags or better.
Honestly, 10/22 will most likely always be the top choice. They are fun, cheap, reliable and accurate, with oodles of customization options.

I got all 3 of them off gunpost. The no1 and no4 were reasonably priced for their great condition. The Jungle Carbine with the bayonet and sling was expensive, but that’s the market these days. I don’t regret it one bit.

Edit: I would like an Alcor though! Well, either that or the Chimera. Still not sure yet.

Ah, gotchya, negative. I wouldn’t mind getting one, they are just pricey and not very special to me. I like to collect history first, and then sport/target next

Not often enough. As soon as the 3-4ft of snow at the outdoor range melts, I’m hoping to take a lot of these for an adventure.
I did take the M1 Garand out a couple weeks ago though. Used the chainsaw to cut some ice 2x1ft ice blocks out of the lake, set them up roughly 120yds out and blasted them. It was thrilling.

Thanks for your help. Makes it a lot easier knowing what surplus is available to collect in Canada.
I've been eyeing the Russian surplus lately. So sad that I missed the svt 40 and the AK variants. I've never even heard of the Schmidt Rubens.

The SVT-40 is a very nice rifle, and fun to shoot. I’m bummed I missed out on things like the type 81. The Schmidt-Rubins (I spelled them wrong first time oops) are from the Swiss army, my two are dated 1916 and 1918, and they are immaculate. Behind the butt stock pad, there is an old tag with the soldiers name, squad and address. It’s really really awesome.
I highly recommend them, they aren’t too crazy expensive, and they aren’t getting cheaper lol.
