I understand the current state of law and regulations are not favourable to businesses in the firearms industry at the current time . Certain manufacturers have basically wrote off Canada. Now while I understand this from a business standpoint I don’t understand why certain retailers don’t recognize this and make more of an effort to combat this. So many things are perpetually out of stock or on special order. 85% of online stores and brick and mortar for that matter are constantly out of stock with no ETA on when that will change. I feel like we are living in a logistic 3rd world country in this industry. For example trying to find a ruger 10/22 with anything other than the absolute basic model or the black synthetic is nearly impossible without special order. This is an indication that they will sell out very quickly. So why never stock anything or give any real etas. I’ve talked to a few distributors and they do have the ability to make these orders still but are apprehensive . I know we’re limited on what we can own but stocking popular models isn’t even the norm anymore. Do you guys know anywhere across Canada that I can order things without a 6 week lead time ? This is getting ridiculous and the sport is dying from 2 ends. 1 being the government and 2 is the lack of supply from retailers. This is harming whatever we have left. This is my rant for now, I get it’s tough out there for everyone but these retailers are severely lacking on keeping things in stock. I just want a 10-22 carbon magpul, not asking for much.

Not sure retailers want to tie up their capital when their stock can be deemed illegal and unsellable at a moment's notice by a government that is accountable to no one.

I understand how my post can seem short sighted. I agree it would not be a wise move to import a shipment of sks rifles right now. But I’m not even talking about just guns themselves. Optics , low capacity magazines, reloading supplies etc, rail accessories. Most people have to go to air-soft retailers to get the things they need as far as accessories. All I’m saying is all these retailers are doing exactly what the government wants . To scare everyone out of the sport from a business standpoint to then we cannot get anything whether it be legal or not. Manufacturers like ruger have basically pulled operations from the retail side out of Canada . The new ruger American bolt rifles are very hard to find in Canada due to lack of commitment from retailers. While I wouldn’t put it past them I think the bolt guns in normal to smaller calibres are safe for now. If they aren’t then we have bigger issues

Cabela's had the Ruger american predators, I bought one there a couple months back and several other shops have them in stock right now. 

If you're looking for the Ranch model I got one from IRunGuns a few weeks back. They had them in stock, maybe check them out.

The new Prairie and Scout models look pretty sweet but I doubt they'll be showing up in Canada anytime soon
