My running theory is that BC is higher due to the huge number of retirees that move here. Widows and estates getting rid of hard to move collections.

Very possible. That's the way Vancouver island has been heading for a while now.

Also, it's a real kick in the dick when someone dies and their guns end up with the RCMP. I had a buddy I used to shoot with who had a nice collection which mostly was turned in to the cops by his ex wife who was a bit of a you know what. The horror...

I'd set up my will to have my guns donated to a gun club if I didn't trust my wife to respect my property. 🤷‍♂️

Shit that's actually super smart. Really unfortunate. I think he had moved here in the last 5-10 yr so maybe his will was out of date? Not really sure.

Estate law can vary from province to province so if he didn’t have a will signed for BC, that might als have been a facto
