the GTA has a lot of wealthy gun owners with pieces worth 10 or 20k. if you go to target sports or gagnon you will rarely see people shooting some old sporter enfiled or cooey 22 but instead some gucci long range precision rig with 2-5k cost for shooting at 50 yards.

Years ago, I got an ATIP back from Public Safety that broke down the number of registered firearms impacted by the OIC per province, and BC and Alberta represented the majority at roughly 30% each. Ontario was around 25%.

So, given the ASFCP's low uptake overall and the legal protection offered to Albertans by their provincial government, this is not a surprising result.

If anything, the only thing to be gleaned from these provincial numbers is the absolutely reprehensible lengths the Liberal Party will go to win votes in Quebec, because they always knew the ban's negative effects would be disproportionately felt by Canadians outside Quebec.
