Shooting Got my first shipment of .308
Ngl, I cheaped out on my first shipment and kept every box under $32
I found the 180gr for $28.99 per box, so I snagged 2 of those and S&B 147Gr 50 pack was on sale for around $60, then the Federal 150gr were around $30 and PMC 147gr were $28.99
I am going to do a test with these and see what my 1:10 barrel shoots best at 300 yards and then I will spend a bit more on 175gr and 168gr which people praise

Yeah this is quite the jump. I shot 7.62x39 where each shot is $0.40 to now nearly $1.45 😂

What rifle? My cheap 308 (got a couple) is a Savage/Stevens 334 and it shoots the PMC 147gr unbelievably well. I've done a trigger job on it, and it has a medium/semi heavy profile barrel, for only $500. This past weekend I put 3 rounds basically through the same hole at 100yd. I wouldn't even call it w cloverleaf, they were literally almost all through the exact same spot.
PMC Bronze is great ammo for the price it is. Now I do think it was a bit of luck, but I average about 0.75-1" groups at 100yd with PMC 147gr, and S&B 147gr also shoots around 1moa in my rifle. For some reason it loves cheap, light FMJ. Shockingly accurate.

They're fantastic rifles for the price and literally blow every other $500 rifle out of the water. Im guessing you've never shot one, it's leaps and bounds nicer than an Axis, or Patriot. It's even a better rifle than my Ruger American. It's not quite as nice as a Tikka, or as refined, but it outshoots my AB3 which is my most expensive bolt gun, although doesn't feel quite as premium.

They're actually awesome rifles for the price. Ignore the Doug guy below, I own a few nicer bolt guns around the $1k mark the the 334 keeps up with them, and actually outshoots then in terms of accuracy. Maybe I got lucky on mine, but it's a fantastic rifle.
Factory trigger absolutely sucks, they epoxy the adjustment screw because if you over adjust it, the safety stops working and it's not drop safe. I had to throw the trigger in the oven for about 30min to free up the epoxy, then adjusted it as low as I safely could, then pulled the trigger apart, polished it, and swapped one or two springs inside with others I had at home, and I have it down to around a 1.5lb pull and it feels excellent with the tuning for a factory trigger.
The bolt is fairly smooth too for the price. It shoots better than my Ruger American Predator in 308, and believe it or not, keeps up with my Browning AB3. It even groups about as good as my friends Tikka, although not as nicely refined.
The stock is pretty sturdy, the trigger needs some tweaking but with some work, it's actually quite nice.
It's one of my favourite rifles and punches well above its weight. It is shockingly good value. Like I said, maybe I got lucky, but it shoots under an moa. Starts walking slightly off to the right when the barrel gets hot, but only after several quick shots does it start to open up to over 1moa. The medium profile barrel is nice, as most other rifles in that price point come with light sporter or pencil barrels. It is far nicer than the Axis I owned, or the Mossberg Patriot. It's even a bit nicer than my Ruger American Predator Gen 2 in terms of build, accuracy, bolt smoothness, and trigger (once you tweak it). The AB3 feels nicer, but the 334 still outshoots in by a thin margin.
Guys just hate on them because they're cheap, but I've owned more expensive rifles, and still own some that are more expensive (AB3, RA predator), and I take the 334 out more than both of those. It's one of my favourite rifles.
It even survived s pretty tough fall right on the muzzle onto rocks a while ago and still shoots perfectly.

I also have a 1:10 in .308. For me, sako gamehead 180gr always shoots great all the way up to 400 yards. Usually i can find boxes between 40-45$

If you're gonna shell out on 308 on tenda, just go ham with the PMC 500rd package, waaaay cheaper to buy it all upfront - you can't find a better deal than that anywhere
Only downside is the upfront cost :')
