Where do people unload their stuff

Where abouts do people unload their stuff that they no longer need or want I've tried gunpost and I've recently tried Townpost but I don't seem to have much luck with getting rid of this tacticool 12ga.

If you're not getting any bites on CGN or GunPost you're probably asking too much.

Good rule of thumb for pricing something is 75% of retail if it's in perfect condition. Less if it's not.

Any upgrades are essentially worthless for adding value because most people won't care.

Optics should be sold separately.

used prices went nuts during covid and never went back down like most in-store prices did. so many people think their shotgun that is $900 new should sell for $850 firm. or people selling ammo for calibers you cant really shoot right now for retail price "bUt yoU sAve tHe tAX"

pre covid i was regularly getting guns 40-50% lower then retail price. especially if you made a wanted ad asking for X gun in Y price range. this was before wanted ads just attracted nothing but scammers.

partly why i bother with gunpost less and less. you are constantly fighting against retired fudds who can drive 2 hours away and drop 2k on a rifle on a moments notice on a tuesday afternoon. for us that work its hard to find a good deal where the person is willing to wait until saturday or something to sell to you.

if they say price firm or the ad is up for months i can assume the person is being foolish about the price

Honestly I feel it may be a little more north than the 75 but I have gotten bites just all want to trade for stuff I'm not fully interested but I'm not upset about that because I did say in the add I'm willing to trade

I mean I listed it because I know people would offer lower, and it's not Turkish but it's a fair point, and anyone who's selling a used gun will have taken it apart( or At least should have to deep clean it)

Nothing wrong with posting a firm price and not taking a cent less. I find it’s quite common on Gunpost. Or at least more common than other buy&sells I’ve experienced. Then do regular price drops until it’s gone

I'm also not saying every person will like it, I will say most people like the stock and forend that I do have on it because I have had 4 different people try and purchase just the stock/ forend because they constantly sell out.

Then put the originals back on and sell the gun as is and sell the stock separately. You'll likely make more money this way

I get what you're saying, but it's probably not, especially if it's a current in-production gun.

If you actually want to sell it, list it for whatever the absolute minimum you'd take for it. Just say no to low ballers.

that’s not nessecarily 100 percent of the case.  A while back i was selling a Maverick 88 for 250 but still waited hell of a long time before i got a legit buyer who wasn’t lowballing me. Sometimes supply and demand for certain guns may influence how many offers you get

I also know that the vast majority of people would rather trust retail with a (relatively) expensive purchase rather than go third party/used. especially on something as commercially available as the 88

While retailers are required to keep that info, and it's dumb, for the feds to actually get that info is somewhat difficult.

Realistically they don't even have the manpower to handle those records if they got them.

This has been a successful sales model for me. You can push to 80-90 or above regular price depending on demand and rarity. The market is flooded with tacticool pumps though, so keep it low and include shipping in your asking price. Low price or keep waiting, honestly. You could try townpost if it's still a thing, but that site always seemed a bit sketchy to me.
