Misc Firearms Outlet Canada's new range promotional video
237
u/kiwiberryman Mar 31 '26
What the hell is this shit, the whole thing is AI
85
u/IntrepidKitchen5322 Mar 31 '26
Ya not a single bit about this new range has real footage. It doesn't even exist for all we know.
24
u/NL1839 Mar 31 '26
I doubt it does, it says it’s opening December 2026. If it was built they wouldn’t wait that long to open it and I imagine they would use footage of the actual facility
29
u/VelkaFrey Mar 31 '26
You mean when she shoots 5 feet right of the target, and sparks coming from the target is not real?

I had a feeling when the guy at the table (0:25) raised 3 arms of sickening length lol

Theres not a single gun that's legal in Canada or allowed to be used in an indoor gun range in this video.
Also the range instructors are standing in front of the firing line while the customers shoot fully automatic (also illegal) at other lane's targets.

They need to fire whatever marketing team they have asap!!! What a joke of ai garbage 😭😭😭
45
u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 31 '26
The best part is they apparently have two full-time photographer/videographers on staff
17
7
u/gspotcowboy Apr 01 '26
I think the marketing team is the owner's son punching stuff into a Sora prompt TBF

u/Fewgel Mar 31 '26
What's with this AI slop?
63
u/dannysmackdown Mar 31 '26
I don't think companies understand how harmful this type of shit really is, to their own business.
The fact that this business is too lazy to even bother trying to make a simple, easy advertisement with actual people in their store and chose to exclusively use AI to make it, says a lot about their business. It is also very badly done, it really looks terrible.
That alone does much to dissuade me from doing business with them anymore. Which kinda sucks because I liked buying ammo from them but this AI slop combined with the credit card stuff is enough to permanently turn me away. I'll buy my ammo from somewhere else I guess.
15
u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Mar 31 '26
On CGN they claimed that this is a placeholder and they hired 2 photographers/social media personnel.
That's a pretty poor job if you ask me...
14
u/dannysmackdown Mar 31 '26
Why even post it then? Like, they already announced the range, why have a "placeholder" for a legit video?
Obviously it isn't a placeholder and this is just damage control after the lashback, but man come on lol.
6
u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Mar 31 '26
I know right. Look at their CGN thread, their responses are kinda pathetic.

There are cheap, stupid people amongst all generations.

Sure, but millennials and zoomers also just don't have money.

I'm GenX with a liberal arts degree and I fucking hate what AI is already doing to jobs in graphic design and writing. So fuck your generalizations.

Wow that’s just…awful. Also, not a single person of influence at FOC watched that and thought “This will make us look bad.”
43
u/SettingPitiful4330 Mar 31 '26
Like honestly how did this get released?? 😭
49
u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 31 '26
Old people are wowed by new technology that horrifies young people
24
u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 31 '26
This is hot on the heels of the CCFR post with an AI image that many people were defending
Turns out, people perceive AI as lazy and not credible, and when you use it in advertising people transfer those associations to your brand. Marketing 101
16
1
u/NeruLight Mar 31 '26
I seriously don’t think they care what Reddit thinks. I’m only half with them on that though 😂
1
u/swift_gilford Apr 01 '26
if it's like any other workplace, they probably did - the final decision just wasn't up to them.
54
u/TheSockington Mar 31 '26
How much you paying to put the range officer on the other side of the firing line? Included in a lifetime membership?https://ibb.co/V0KCbJp2

u/Ashkore_The_Dragon Mar 31 '26
Wait till you see their material for the handgun safety course
10
u/kestik Mar 31 '26
Two dudes holding the same handgun, pointed directly at the instructor? What's wrong with that?
-1
u/beginnerdoge Apr 01 '26
You do realize this is AI yeah?
3
u/TheSockington Apr 01 '26
Haha of course, but just that anything related to a shooting range would okay shit like that for marketing
1
u/beginnerdoge Apr 01 '26
The regenerating pumpkins had me worried the zombies had come. I had to look outside to make sure
48
u/Acceptable-Two-3563 Mar 31 '26

28
u/SettingPitiful4330 Mar 31 '26
I really hope this is all just a big marketing joke for April 1st 😅

u/MajorAnubis Apr 01 '26
If it hadnt been released the night of the 31st Id 100% believe this was the case.

u/Cheap_Responses Mar 31 '26
HAHAHAHA This is the sloippiest slop I've seen in a long time. "Come to our range in your clown car and leave your car doors open. Come browse our large selection of comically oversized prohibited firearms you can't buy. Our RSOs are the bravest on earth, they will coach you from in front of the firing line while you shoot. Rent one of our guns that stands up by itself, we'll let you stand behind the counter while we talk about it or enjoy a coffee with any of your four arms. 35 and 1/4 state of the art shooting lanes where we let you shoot targets in other people's lanes as our RSOs metamorphasize from the lane seperator and stand directly in front of your ejection port. Want to shoot fully automatic prohibited firearms, no problem we will expose ourselves criminally and let you do that. Some of our RSOs are even TSA agents. We're on a mission to prove that guns are dangerous and will fire themselves without even touching the trigger. But that's okay cause oiur range will have hot girls and a nice cafe too. We;re taking shooting ranges a step further by also having an Italian restaurant where our serves don't know the difference between wine and coffee. Two servers for every guest! Our staff are so talented they can touch type on an upside down keyboard"
31
u/GetGoodOrGetRekt Mar 31 '26
Literally any low budget, genuine promo is 1000x better than this ai garbage
74
u/xXxDarkSasuke1999xXx Mar 31 '26
Good people of canadaguns, please note I didn't post this with the intent to promote FOC, in fact the exact opposite
20
u/Brapika Mar 31 '26
Promotions here for them wouldn't work anyways. It's not gonna get my credit card unhacked.
5
3
u/beginnerdoge Apr 01 '26
You should edit the post with a PSA dude. If this is real it's a fucking crime against Canadian gun owners 🤣
18
u/DeadEndStreets Mar 31 '26
Lmao more flags than July 1st jfc.
Also love the shot of the dude sending rounds diagonally down range - rip to your hypothetical walls.
6
u/Plasma_48 Apr 01 '26
Don’t worry, the walls are AI generated they’ll just ask grok to patch them up.
18
16
u/PenisSlipper Mar 31 '26
This is just a scam, right? Thats just an ai generated video pretending to be a real product
15
u/ImprovementKnown2491 Mar 31 '26
My favourite part is the server pouring hot coffee into the red wine glass 😆what is even happening here. This looks like something from Sims 2 video game haha
12
u/mangobludden Mar 31 '26
nga's be doing ANYTHING but actually putting effort into their videos, sonsquito im acc crine
12
u/Acceptable_Visit_115 Mar 31 '26
Come to FOC! We have:
No safety rules
Prohibited rifles and magazines
Coffee served in wine glasses (with the background soundtrack singing "cafe and restaurant" to drive the point home)
Explosive pumpkins
And so much more!
10
10
8
u/Sea-Tangerine2131 Mar 31 '26
There’s so much AI cringe happening. Out of all the things that upset me, it was pouring coffee into a wineglass.
3
u/AdditionalLoss7274 Mar 31 '26
Yeah, I had to rewind to confirm I saw that one. For the record: red wine and coffee DO NOT MIX. Tried it at Christmas one year. 0/10, do not recommend.
8
u/BoooRadley13 Mar 31 '26
The fully automatic pump action shooting a jack-o'-lantern at the end killed me lol.
7
u/1882greg Mar 31 '26
Only $20k for a lifetime membership! Look on the positive side, w have a new range opening in the GTA! That video is SO not representative of their staff or clientele.
8
u/dgod40 Mar 31 '26
I guess this rollout is representative of ownership and or whoever approved of this. I do agree though, I've had nothing but good service from the people who work there and they sometimes have stuff I can't find in the other GTA stores
2
u/NeruLight Mar 31 '26
The staff like to joke around. I think they fully understood how people might perceive this lmao
1
u/1882greg Apr 02 '26
I’ve had mostly good service there too so nothing against them. But I didn’t see anyone I recognized behind the counter in the video. But those can be expensive to produce so much cheaper to do an AI version. I do wish them good luck. We need more ranges and more PAL/RPAL holders.

7
u/dgod40 Mar 31 '26
FOC has given us a lot of content today. Maybe mods needed to make a sticky single post for everything bad with their release. Website, videos, images, pricing, etc

RSOs sitting in front of the firing line. drinking coffee out of a wine glass, bruh 💀💀

Lmfao I did not care one way or another about this UP UNTIL NOW. Having shopped in-store, I know these guys are humorous. This video is fucking wild. Bad, funny, insane. I kindaaaaa want to go there now, lmao (but it’s too far and deffo too expensive lmao).

Trying to appeal to Gen Y/Z. The people least likely to own a firearm and the most likely to vote for firearm confiscation.

2
u/pyates1 Mar 31 '26
Hasn't anyone here been served wine from a coffee carafe before? North America peasants need to expand their minds and become one with the AI collective. Totally not written by a bot, or was it?
2
u/Canadian-gun-nut Apr 01 '26
All that is embarrassing but what’s more embarrassing is the price for a 25 yard range that has a range officer looking up your anoos
3
u/androstaxys Apr 01 '26 edited Apr 01 '26
Range officer standing in front of the firing line… lol classic AI.
Then at 1:04 the rifle has 2 side by side optics that overlap because AI is confused.
Brutal.
0:09 pretty sure that lady’s eyes were a villain in MIB…

Cute. They are showing all the OIC prohibs being used in the range.
How I wish that were true.
1
u/steve-rap Mar 31 '26
Haha. Why did they make it so long when every scene has a glaring issue with it. Officer literally sitting next to the muzzle. One chick is shooting through the firing lanes Coffee in a wine glass.
Haha Who the hell wants to eat lead contaminated Italian food

This looks like such dogshit god damn. NGL this is making me think the entire facility is vaporware. Especially if it's opening in December???? They have to have something set up that they can show off.
1
u/CruelHandLuke_ Mar 31 '26
That's a ridiculous amount for a range. You're better off going to Target Sports and paying per use. 1080 a year plus 465 for a course and initiation?
Fuck off.
1
u/CapnFuntime Mar 31 '26
You'd think for the outrageous membership fees they could afford to actually shoot a video and not just put out an ad thats clearly AI
1
u/Dalthanes Mar 31 '26
FOC just made themselves look like a bigger joke with this AI garbage. So fucking dumb. Whoever decided to create that and release it is braindead.
1
1
1
u/SirKickBan Apr 01 '26
Maybe those insane membership fees are going towards teaching employees how to phase through walls so they can better help you? Because that's what this video seems to show a lot of, and I for one can't think of any other reason for it!

One year of their "gold membership" would pay for 7 Years at my range that goes to 1 Mile.
