Milsurps / Prohib SKS is the word
With so few options left, I’ve had more time and money to get into collecting these beautys. What have you guys been collecting lately?

We're looking at enabling photo comments. We're just running into issues with Reddit. I only just learned this recently, but Reddit doesn't allow subs to enable photo comments if Reddit thinks that the sub in question hosts NSFW/sensitive content. I assume the feet pics is what's "too much" for Reddit!

I draft up so many dank picture responses and then am always sad when I dont see the photo button.
There are far worse subs that have photo comments, weird that they don't let this sub do it.

Lets goooo!! This group has improved quite a bit over the last year, with faster post-acceptance rates and the flair options. I hope reddit hurries up with the approval for picture comments!

Whoaaa, they’re all gorgeous but the one at the bottom is quite a unique piece. Where’d you get the chassis, I’m assuming that’s a custom job?

Custom by myself, I had another in here last week that was similar. Takes a lot of handiwork to get this far but I’m starting to be happy with it

I’ve had a lot of interest so I’ll have to see. This one with prototyping probably has me at about 10 hours of labor.
Is there anything in particular you’d wanna see in these? The steel folding stocks, orange wood, or a scope mount?

I don't know who specifically you could go to, but if you can find a Canadian firearm manufacturer that can pump these out, these would sell like hotcakes! Maybe u/SpectreBallistics could give you advice.

I just spoke to SBI at the Toronto outdoor show and it seems they are focused on the 22s they build for the time being. The rep told me they only have two CNC machines, I was hoping they could make more of those AK mag releases since they help the mag swaps a lot.
I’ll look around though see who else there is

What is the chassis made from? A bit hard to tell in the photo. 3D printing could potentially work well for it. Might even come out sturdier than an ATI stock with the right blend of filament!

It’s a wood chassis with stamped sheet metal around the side. There is a 3D chassis out there but the forums are from 2017 and it seems nobody posted the files for it. Would be a great idea though

Does the SKS-47 build still use the sks trigger group? I wanted to do something similar but have the pistol grip closer to the magazine. Perhaps utilizing a AR-15 trigger group instead to achieve that. Definitely some kinks to make that work though.

I know you said it’s a lot of custom work but how did you get the mag to fit in there? What’s the brand of mag and did you use an adapter?

That magazine is just a promag steel 30 round duckbill magazine. All you need to do is file down the inside of the magwell until it fits in comfortably.
There are other mods you can do to remove the duckbill or use AK mags, but they are a bit more complicated
