This is the long term plan for confiscation. They're going to make them illegal and if the cops check your premises for ANY reason (even if you're not involved) you're in deep trouble. I see it all the time, cops arrest someone for some completely unrelated reason and all of a sudden their collection is displayed on the RCMP facebook page like some spoils of war.

Care to share some examples? I have not seen anything like that recently. All the big “busts” that were somewhat unrelated were drug related and just so happens they are in unlawful possession of a bunch of firearms. I can’t remember where someone was arrested for something really dumb, had all their legally owned and stored firearms confiscated and paraded around as if they were a mass shooter.

This is not the kind of stuff that makes the news. You have to follow in-person, local happenings or local groups, often the RCMP pages themselves. I cannot find the most recent one I can think of cause the page that shared it closed down. Anyhow, the news posts are from the RCMP Facebook pages themselves, when they do their little display things.

Farmer in PEI got RCMP called on him by disgruntled neighbour or something. Reports that he had explosives in his storage shed. He had some components for making explosives, sure... the kind of stuff that would be on any farm, basic chemicals. RCMP confiscated this stuff, and took his .22LR gopher guns. Charged with manufacturing explosives or some shit, guns taken away. The way they worded the story and displayed his little .22LR guns made it sound like he was a terrorist threat, dude was just some farmer.

Even this story we're looking at here, this is probably not a bad guy... was a "wellness check", they find him in his bedroom alone in "medical distress" then take all of his shit. He has a large collection, probably one of the only things he cares about, and now he's been slapped with weapons charges, as if this is going to make his life any better. Dude's gonna kill himself the second he gets the chance.

This is a quote from the article itself: "When members are in a location with lawful authority, even if that authority is not about conducting a criminal investigation, if information and evidence gathered related directly to criminal activity, it can be used to support criminal proceedings. Given the nature of the seizure, members submitted reports to Crown to seek several firearms charges and for a prohibition and disposition order for all the firearms."

If you have ANY sort of illegal firearm on your premises you need to keep your nose 110% clean. If the cops come snooping around for any reason even if you're not involved you risk getting your entire collection taken. The RCMP does not have the manpower to go door to door collecting firearms... but they could definitely whittle away at people's collections over the next 20 years. The Liberals know, they aren't stupid, they're mischievous.

Don’t have illegal firearms, store your firearms properly. Follow the law. Seems like it’s not that hard. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
