WITHDRAW from the ASFCP: if you’ve already declared your firearms, it’s not too late to withdraw. The program itself outlines how to do so.

And look at paragraph (5). To me that sure looks like they intend to punish provinces that didn't roll over by making sure that any available compensation money goes to Quebec participants first.

you'd think if this whole thing was actually about public safety, not for political optics and scoring of good boy points they'd try everything in their power to ensure as much participation as possible by sweetening the deal at every opportunity, not bittering it at every opportunity...

Nathalie holds a serious grudge towards law abiding gun owners. She desperately wants to punish ALL of them for the terror she felt 30 years ago.

She said as much in that recent press conference screed where she pushed Gary aside to rant how it was a legally owned Ruger Mini 14 that was pointed at her during the Poly Tech shooting.

She also said, and I am not joking, that criminals with guns are not the problem.

I think her (highly emotional based) thinking is like this: criminals with guns are not a threat because a) there is a lot fewer of them and b) they tend to shoot other criminals. At the same time, she thinks that every legal gun owner is one step away from becoming a mass shooter. With indigenous hunters it's a long step because they live in deep rural areas. But with tactical fans it's an extremely short step because tactical shooting looks like murder practice.
