Does anyone else starting to get the sneaking suspicion that this entire buyback scheme is a $1 billion dollar embezzlement plan to get tax payer funds into their friends hands? The website cost over 1 million to make and is barely functional. They’ve spent 800 million plus and haven’t even collected guns yet. They spent 22 million on the retailer portion and apparently have if them weren’t even paid.

Yall think they’ll back out last minute only because they got their fill of the billion? 👀

True but in recent times it's only been done by liberals and at new-generation scale. Yeah sure if a conservative party won there would still be some questionable spending (size) but we haven't seen that so...

Just because the cons would do it too (theoretically) doesn't mean liberals are justified in doing it now.

If you mean federally, of course it's only been Liberals recently, they're the only ones to have formed government. Though Harper's spending on the 2010 G8/20 summit comes to mind as a spectacularly wasteful use of the public purse. Regardless, my point is that it's not justifiable regardless of what colour tie they wear, the majority of both flavours come from the same socioeconomic class. Just like gun ownership in general, framing it as a partisan issue helps nobody

Seems to me liberals love destroying the current fabric of society for virtuous future progressiveness. Banning guns and wasting a billy along the way is one of the most tone deaf things a government can do. Do they read history books?

Idk, I am biased but at least if the Cons waste money it's in my chosen flavour.
