News / Politics / Activism Anyone writing to their Premiere?

The CCFR suggested people write to their Premiere to speak out against the gun grab and to encourage them to do what Manitoba has done.

CCFR has templates for email or snail mail letter. I thought a snail mail letter may be taken more seriously by the Premiere’s office since letters take more effort than an email.

But the template letter they posted follows the typical written letter format. ie your name and address listed at the top of the page.

As soon as I saw that, it made me not want to write a letter for fear that anyone who speaks against the gun grab and puts their name and address to it, can be used to create an unofficial registry.

Does anyone else have similar concerns? I feel slightly paranoid about this but then again, how can one not be paranoid when you look at the way the govt has treated its citizens.

I’m considering sending a letter but not including my address and possibly using a pseudonym. There’s a chance they won’t take it seriously without name and address but that’s beyond my control. All I can do is write a letter or not.

Interested in others’ opinions.

It is sad to see how many people in this sub have such a poor attitude when it comes to reaching out to policy makers.

"I don't think my letter/email will do anything so I'm going to do fuck all and complain I didn't get my way."

Doing nothing is part of the problem. Don't be part of the problem. Be vocal.

My premier has my back and I'm still going to reach out to my MLA to say I'm supportive of the initiatives.

Do something!

And the idea of creating a registry is paranoia.

yeah! Spend 5 fucking minutes to send a damned note. Or shut the hell up and hand your guns in. I mean, if you can't be arsed to do even a minimal token effort, then you're CHOOSING to be completely useless.

You only need to think up a letter once. Then you only need to change names and addresses you send it to.

Easy-fuckin'-peasy!

Do you attach your name and address to the letter? Or do it by email and not include your name?

I sure do. There is no reason not to do so.

A non-gun owner can (and should if they have the beliefs) protest too.
