Id be taking that 20" all day. Don't think I really need a bayonet but that'd be my choice.

No he didn't.
He said 2 years of SHOOTGUNS. Now I've never heard the term shootgun before but since a reliable and functional gun needs to shoot something I choose to think it means a gun that's still functioning. /s

Check for sloppy barrel with the nut tight on 590 with the pig impaler. Mine kept not extracting low brass and that was what the problem was I think. I stoned the end of the mag tube down because the barrel nut was bottoming out on the tube before the barrel was tight. Its tight now. I polished the chamber too and works fine now.
