I wonder if we’ll see more fence sitters do this now. The declaration period is almost over, so it’s unlikely there was anyone waiting to hear if their region was participating.
It COULD in a way help - if all police services waited until the last day to put out a memo saying they’re participating, you’d only have a day of declarations. Then they could all report participation with only a couple declarations, killing the program faster.
Either that or it’s just wimpy pandering to try and get more funding later on.
