So my friend has a previously restricted already registered bren 2 he wants to follow the law and not jeopardize his license but civil disobedience. He’s asking my advice but I’m really not sure and especially don’t want him in trouble. Is that an automatic declare?
Nothing is automatic, you need to sign in and confirm the declaration.
Your friend can legally keep it until at least the end of october this year. If they do not extend the amnesty, your friend only needs to surrender or destroy themselves and report destroyed the serialized component, which is the upper receiver on the bren2's I believe. The rest of the gun is gun parts.
