Milsurps / Prohib A real Canadian *made* gun
Can't think of a better gun to show of in a sub dedicated to Canadian owned firearms and the Canadian firearms community than this.

“An elegant weapon from a more civilized age…”
Wonderful Hi-Power! I myself own a Turk clone & it’s my favourite firearm.

The first handgun I ever shot. Would've liked to have owned one. Wish the CAF wasn't just destroying most of them

Same. I'm happy I have this one. It is a shame about the direction the DND is heading with them, but since we can't buy them.....
I'd love some spare parts though.

Carried one for a few years. Never a problem with it. Just wish I could have kept it.

Sadly I don't see any change for the next three year and that if we as a nation even make it that far.

Haven’t they been decommissioned and sent to the scrappers by the DND due to age?
5
u/BigKWE Mar 15 '26
Yes and due to the CF/DND policy of NOT selling surplus firearms to the civilian market. That being said, if properly maintained and unless there is a serious metallurgical structural issue a firearms like the HP can last a very, very long time.

Irony is with all the ‘elbow’s up’ and defend Canada militia talk.
One would expect the government to flood the local milita with all these surplus and stock all local armories with them

Im moving to the U.S. because im not waiting for a handgun “freeze” that’ll never thaw.

That’s a beaut, really regret not getting an rpal before the freeze. Hoping that we can see a thaw at some point but looking like it’ll be at least 2+ years at minimum
